Chesterfield County Fair Association Scholarship Award

The Chesterfield County Fair Association, Inc. is offering two $1,000 scholarships to be awarded to individuals seeking a formal education beyond high school.

Eligibility requirements:

The applicant must be a citizen of the U.S., a resident of Chesterfield County and never been convicted of a criminal offense.

The applicant can be of any age as long as he/she is a graduating high school senior with a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher (a”C” average) or have received a GED within one year of submission of an application for the scholarship.

Applications must be postmarked between January 15 and April 1.

The scholarship is not based on sex, race, religion, financial need, class rank or scholastic major.

Membership in the Chesterfield County Fair Association, Inc., is not required but candidates who are members of the association will be given preference.

Participation in the Chesterfield County Fair is not required but a strong preference will be given to those who have in some way worked at the fair.

An award decision will be made by May 1 of the year in which the award is to be made and payment will take place upon proof of acceptance and enrollment in a program of post secondary education.

The goal of the Chesterfield County Fair Association, Inc., through these scholarships, is to help prepare a better future for Chesterfield County and its residents.

In order to be considered for this scholarship each applicant must meet the above requirements and must submit a copy of the attached application.  If short-answer questions or the essay question cannot be answered in the space provided, use of additional paper is acceptable.  A copy of applicant’s official transcript from his/her school is also required.  While a letter of recommendation is not required, if submitted it must be included with the application.
