2014 Miss Chesterfield County Fair Pageant
Boot Scootin' at the Chesterfield County Fair
Say Howdy to the 2014 Miss Chesterfield County Fair, Danielle Hill!
Underneath a blanket of bright stars, the cowboy boot clad contestants entertained the audience with a rousing opening dance routine to "Boot Scootin' Boogie," choreographed by Michelle
Botkins, owner of Dance Xplosion. It was a fun-filled night of heel-toes and dos-si-does!
After taking us back to the wild west, the contestants competed in personality wear, evening wear and an on-stage question from the judges. Earlier in the day, they each had a personal interview with the four judges. Each contestant is asked to present her platform
and to be prepared to answer its importance to her and the community.
Thank you to our judges, Brandi Pope (Miss VA 2012), Kyle Grinnage (Executive Director of the Miss Chesterfield Pageant), Sue and Buddy Cox (pageant consultants and former Directors
of the Miss Hanover and Miss Greater Richmond pageants). Auditors were Jessica Yandle and Terri McKinney. Jeff Beatman again provided his expertise as our Master "Cowboy" of Ceremonies.
The Pageant Posse once again rose to the occasion by their dedication and hard work of helping to set up the stage and making sure that the contestants were "on-time" and ready to dos-si-do. Thank you goes out to our Stage Manager, Cheri Gray and the Pageant Posse -- Pam Rives, Alice Weedon, Brigid Lane, Suzanne Fee, Kathy Harney and Marsha Ankiel.
We also want to send a big shout out of thanks to our sponsors: Swineford Florist for the beautiful floral arrangements, contestant bouquets and judges/auditors corsages/boutennaires , Dr. Rich
Bates, DDS (the dental gifts), Tammy Breski for loaning us the horse saddles, and U-Tan for the spray tanning certificates.
Along with a variety of gifts and prizes, newly crowned Queen, Danielle Hill, also received $500 plus a trip to the Homestead in January, 2015, to compete at the VA Association of Fairs Pageant, with the winner of that being eligible to compete in the Miss Virginia Pageant.
1st runner up was Lizzy Mothershead and she received $300.
2nd runner up was Sarah Sims and she received $200.
3rd runner up was Christy Lemay and she received $100.
